Aging Turtles

    Anyone know if you can age a turtle and if so how you do it?

    also, what can i use thats waterproff for rainy days and nights to record my observations. Like waterproof tables, paper?

    Counting the rings...honestly older turtles are just obvious-beat up shells, missing limbs, fading colors, etc.....the best journals to use are rite in the rain journals....they are waterproof...combine that with the rite in the rain pen and youre completely waterproof and ready to go.

    aging turtles is extremely difficult, they absorb and regrow bone etc every year. Age rings etc is just not accurate. About all you can really do is use age classes ie juvenile, subadult, adult.

    Thanks Phil, i will check into getting that stuff. Also thanks for the other info boys.
    Just got back from a new pool and i think i may have some marlbed larve in it. I sent pics to Rich to have a look-see.
