Met up with Phil D, Still looking for the "den", but have a few good leads
that will be revisited in the fall. Great to see some snakes at these spots.

Andy Wolf lead me to this special place.
This is Timber heavy since that was the target.

Out the corner of my eye…

At another spot, we came across this trio in the grass… which you can barely see.

They quickly retreated into the nearest bush…

At the next spot, we flipped this handsome juvenile…

    Getting good records.

The last one was recoginzed from last year… a nice blond individual.

Later that day I was out and cruised this "soon to be dor" individual warming on a very busy road.
5 seconds before the next car…

I waved the first car around the snake and quickly retrieved my hook to get it to safety.

It was moved pretty far off the road

I can only hope it didn't go back…

If you are tired of Timbers….

    How bout a toad?

    Or s'mores and popcorn?

    Or a parasitic newt?

Nice in situ on the log. That one pattern is interesting also.
