ModeratorI am in Bucks county, I have never found them to be numerous here like they are up further in the state. Also, this time of year, of course they like it cool. On several occassions I have found them under rocks right at the edge of streams...

MemberThat's odd-I live about an hour from you and they are the most common snake I see on my street. Then again-to find a Red-Belly Snake I have to go 20 miles north of here. I noticed they feed on Red-Backed Salamanders here-do you have any of those around? I would look in areas where those salamanders are abundant. Just a thought.

MemberYeah we have tons of red back salamanders in fact I have them under rocks beside my house and I know they are a staple food for ring necks but I have never seen any in my area but when I use to be a member of the Herp association around here they all said they see them regulary. It's my favorite pa snake, actually growing up in like grade school friends of mine brought some in to school they found by a stream I live 10 feet away from but I flipped every blessed rock on that bank and can't find a single one lol. So it's been my personal mission to locate them near me for a long time
