Went hiking to my secret spot on Friday. I finally found two different snake species that I never found before. Unfortunately one was dead. It must have been basking on the black top. The ring-neck was a pleasant suprise though. It was pretty small. Are the adults small or was this a young one?

Bummer on the black rat! The ringneck looks like adult-size. Thanks for posting.

Nice ring. I always seem to see more DOR rats than any other species, though garters have been high this year also.
