Went out to hit up a new spot today, so I had ideas as to what may be there but I really didn't know what I'd find. Things started out pretty good after a long hike uphill (thank God I've been hitting the stairmaster).
First off I found these two basking in the weeds. Gave me a good opportunity to try my homemade snake hook.
The smaller of the two.
The larger with my hook for size comparison.
Then I checked out a couple of wet areas.
Dragonfly metamorphosis.
Gray tree frog.
Nice bright green.
Then I came upon this fellow basking right off the trail.
Not too far away was this one.
Finished out the day with two nice boxies.
