Prior to a speaking engagement at the Lancaster Herp Society, I took advantage of the nice weather and spent the day herping Lancaster and York Counties.
As you all may know, I like to leave early…

I found most of the critters you'd expect for mid march madness.

Did you ever see the movie "Caveman" with Ringo Starr? I am convinced they used a dusky for the dinosaur model.

The Susquehanna did not look friendly this day.

    Fixer upper.

Spotted this guy from 100 yards..

Looks like an old red-eared slider

Always great for find you target once you identify the habitat.

Not really sure what they were up too…

    Left them as found.

    Good spring day.

Woods must be out in full force. Kevin posted one also. Great stuff. Really probably at some point should add sliders (red-eared and yellow-bellied to the DB).

Jason, thats what i thought yesterday when i found them. I found 4 at the bottom of a wood pile that was bulldozed. Its a mixture of logs and dirt, looks like the perfect place for turtles to dig in. They are a mear 15 ft. away from the waters edge. They were spread out over 35 yds. all heading to water and muddy.
