No picture sorry. But I studied it's features while it was still in sight. From any pictures that I've seen it resembled a smooth earth snake ( short rounded nose, smooth scales, grayish in color w/ light colored belly, short tail) but it had to be at least 2' long. Do you thinks it's possible that it was since everything I've read indicates that they don't grow past 10", also from the database none have been reported in my area...

What county? Also any more details was this a solid color all the way to the belly or were the side lighter? Any stripes or patterns? Was the belly marked or solid? Also what was the habitat?

Northern Washington county. No distinguishing spots or striping. Didn't get a look at the under side, I'm not very fond of touching snakes they kind of give me the willies but I guess that's part of the draw too. He happened to be slithering across my side porches door and went over underneath a large shrub and some weeds on the south eastern side of my house which was shaded at that point in the day. It scared the heck out of me I almost stepped on it. Then after I shook the heebee-jeebees off I just watched it to see where it was going and what it looked like. There was a camera in my pocket I was just completely entranced by it and I forgot. Property is hilly, no where near water. About .5 acre from high grass and another .5 from thick wooded areas.
