I live in Montgomery county, and this red eared turtle was found crossing a busy road. It was miles away from the nearest water, or lake or creek.
From all the research I did, there is no record that this turtle lives in this area. The owner of a local pet shop said it is a native species, and does live in Pa. No other maps show that it lives in this state.
Box turtle was found on a gravel road, and garter snake all these within a weeks time.

Red eared sliders are an invasive species brought in by the pet trade, although they do live and breed quite nicely in P.A. Not so nice for our native turtles though as they compete for food and space with them.
