   where can i get some good literature on them

   The best PA literature on timber rattlesnakes can be found in college libraries and journals.....Dr. Howard Reinert has published countless articles on Timbers and Coppers from his PhD study.....Stan Boder also did studies on Timbers for his masters thesis at East Stroudsburg University, but none of his stuff is published yet. Reinert did studies comparing habitat utilized by both Timbers and Coppers and how that habitat differed. Stan compared habitats used by yellow phased timbers versus habitat used by black phased timbers. Outside of this state, William "Marty" Martin has stuff published from studies in VA and WVA in the Biology Of the Vipers and the Biology of the Pitvipers, both large books on many species of Viperids, and William Brown has stuff from new york studies of timbers....hope thats a good start for you...let me know if you need more help...
