Im tired of staring a google earth, and snake huntin in my mind. Just thinkin of all the critters and wondering how they are making out. It seems to me that the winter may not be as hard on the snakes with all this snow down. i would guess it would insulate better, and the cold cant penitrate as easily. Whats your thoughts?

Snakes will be fine... I think you nailed it with the snow "insulating" them. I do believe that our amphibian migrations will be delayed of course. This time last year I was photoing wood frogs making there way to the ponds.

Yeah, last fall was the first i really looked for amphibian critters, and i was anxious to see the migrations of late winter early spring i was told about, now i guess i'll have to wait a little longer. I cant wait to see if i can find marlbed larva in a pool that i suspected they layed eggs in.

I think things will be fine. This is a good winter and we can only hope that we get a REAL spring this year because of it. :)
