On the slimy trail of hellbenders

    This week on the Lancaster Online News there was a great article on the study of Hellbenders that Dr. Peter Petokas from Lycoming College has been doing for 6 years. I thought this article would interest our visitors. Be sure to also check out the video.

    Pity the poor eastern hellbender. Cool name, bad rap.

    This secretive, long-living salamander that can grow to more than to 2 feet long and reach 4-5 pounds, is one of the least-known creatures of its size in Pennsylvania.
