I would like to personally welcome you to the Pennsylvania Herpetological Education and Resource Project. The project has been in the works for a little over eight months and we are finally glad to be releasing it to the public. The project would not be possible without some of the great people that saw the project through and had the same goals to make it functional, and continually volunteering their time writing educational materials and making other vital contributions. Our goal is to educate and create awareness of the reptiles and amphibians of Pennsylvania, and to let you take that knowledge a step further by helping to conserve these fascinating animals through the PAHERP Database.
The PAHERP Database is an important step to involve the public in data collection and online submission for all 76 reptile and amphibian species of Pennsylvania. This data will aid in research, conservation and educational outreach throughout the state and determine the present range of many species.
We hope that you take some time to look around and ask us any questions, or contact us if you see a problem on the site. With the start of the site we would love to hear your feedback. Sign up for our RSS feed and get our latest news to your email or your rss reader, or keep checking back. We will continue to add new materials and work to expand many areas of the site as we grow.
